1 Overview
DukaanSathi ("we", "us", or "our") is a mobile application designed to help small shop owners manage their business — including customer ledgers, credit/debit records, stock, invoices, staff, and sales reports.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and the controls you have over it. By using DukaanSathi, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
🔒 We never sell, rent, or trade your personal or business data to any third party, for any reason.
2 Data We Collect
We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the app:

We do NOT collect:
- Location or GPS data
- Camera, microphone, or photo library access
- Device contacts list
- Government IDs (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.)
- Bank account or UPI/payment details
- Data from any other apps on your device
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA, GAID)
3 How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide and improve the DukaanSathi service:
- To authenticate you and maintain your account session
- To store and sync your business records securely to the cloud
- To generate PDF invoices and financial statements
- To display customer balances, stock levels, and reports within the app
- To restore your data when you log in on a new device
- To fix bugs using anonymized, non-identifiable crash report data
📵 We do not use your data for advertising, marketing profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
4 Data Storage & Security
All user data is stored on Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), a secure, enterprise-grade cloud platform operated by Google LLC.
- All data is transmitted over TLS/HTTPS encryption — your data is never sent in plain text
- Firebase Security Rules ensure each user can only access their own data
- Your PIN is stored by Firebase Authentication in hashed form — never as plain text
- Data is stored on Google's servers, which comply with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II standards
- A session token is cached locally on your device via AsyncStorage to keep you logged in
ℹ️ Even DukaanSathi staff cannot view your business data — access is controlled exclusively by your credentials.
5 Third-Party Services
DukaanSathi uses the following third-party services to operate:

These providers may collect minimal technical data (e.g. device type, OS version) for service operation. We do not control their data practices; please review their respective privacy policies.
6 Data Sharing
We do not share your personal or business data with any third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:
- Legal obligation: If required by law, court order, or government authority
- Protection of rights: To investigate fraud, security threats, or violations of our Terms
- Service providers: Only with Google Firebase, as described in Section 5, strictly for app operation
We have never sold and will never sell user data to data brokers or advertisers.
7 Children's Privacy
DukaanSathi is intended for business use by adults aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age.
If you believe a minor has registered an account, please contact us at support@dukaansathi.in and we will promptly delete that account and all associated data.
8 Your Rights
You have the following rights over your data at any time:
- Right to Access: View all your data directly within the app
- Right to Correction: Edit or update any of your records in the app
- Right to Deletion: Permanently delete your account and all associated data (see Section 9)
- Right to Export: Export your records as PDF reports from within the app
- Right to Object: Contact us if you believe your data is being processed inappropriately

9 Data Deletion
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time. This is a full, irreversible deletion — including your profile, all customer records, transactions, stock data, staff data, and invoices.
🗑️ How to Delete Your Data
Option A — Via the App- Open DukaanSathi and log in to your account
- Go to Settings from the bottom navigation
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm deletion — all data will be permanently removed within 30 days
- Email us at support@dukaansathi.in
- Use subject line: "Delete My Account"
- Include your registered 10-digit mobile number in the email body
- We will process the deletion within 7 working days and confirm via reply
10 Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- Notify you via an in-app alert on your next login
Your continued use of DukaanSathi after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If you disagree with any changes, you may delete your account as described in Section 9.
